Charly Gilpin is Two Spirit Eeyou from the Cree Nation of Wemindji in Eeyou Istchee. Charly is a multidisciplinary visual artist with a current focus on practicing beadwork and sewing techniques. They are self-taught and taught by Elders and members of the different communities of the Eeyou-Eenou Nation. Their work is a reflection of the time spent on the land, with youth and the people, and their own lived experiences, finding moments of beauty and peace all while surviving settler colonialism.
